Product Description:
Gulf No-Rust Engine Oils gives the opportunity to protect the internal parts of motors and technical installations for a long period, imparting a rust preventative property. They are fortified with an extremely effective anti-rust agent, a surface wetting agent (to insure distribution of the engine oil into all crevices), detergent, oxidation stabilizer, anti-foam agent, pour point depressant and viscosity index improver. There are three grades of Gulf No-Rust Rust Preventative Engine Oils, differing mainly in viscosity. Grade 1 is an SAE 10 oil, Grade 2 an SAE 30 oil and Grade 3 an SAE 50 oil.
Features/Benefits:
Under conditions of long-term storage, ordinary oils tend to drain from machine parts to the crankcase, leaving upper parts exposed to the destructive effects of condensing moisture. In engines used intermittently, such as fire engines, standby generating and pumping units and certain auxiliary equipment. The condensation of moisture and the accumulation of moisture and acids as by-products of combustion can reduce the rust preventative properties of an oil. Thus, even submerged parts such as crankshaft bearings become subject to the damaging effect of rust. Additives in Gulf No-Rust Engine Oil protect against both types of damage by maintaining a thin film of oil on exposed parts trough long periods of storage and by eliminating the damage that would otherwise be caused by moisture and acid contamination of the rust preventative itself. They are ideal for protecting internal combustion engines which are to be laid up or temporarily taken out of service and are recommended for use in engines which are operated intermittently – fire engines, standby generators, snow-ploughs, etc. In addition, they are recommended for use in gear sets, compressors, pumps, hydraulic systems, machine tools spindles and air tools when out-of-service storage with ordinary oil might permit extensive damage from rust. Run-in of gear trains, air compressors and hydraulic assemblies is facilitated using these oils. After approval of the machinery for service, the Gulf No-Rust Engine Oil may be drained, leaving a rust preventative film on internal surfaces, permitting long-tem indoor storage protection.
